Special Interest Group

The Children’s Palliative Care Research Special Interest Group was established in December 2025 by AIIHPC for AIIHPC Palliative Care Research Network, Early Career Researcher Forum, and Voices4Care (people with life-limiting conditions, carers, family members, and those with an interest in palliative care). Members include people with backgrounds and experience in academia, nursing, medicine, paediatrics, pharmacy, chaplaincy, psychology, social work, people with palliative care needs, carers, and interested citizens.

The group meets online on a bimonthly basis to discuss research priorities, opportunities and ongoing projects. The group is chaired by Professor Veronica Lambert, Professor of Children, Family Nursing and Health, School of Nursing, Psychotherapy and Community Health, Dublin City University, and co-chaired by Dr Samantha Smith, Research Assistant Professor, School of Medicine, Trinity College Dublin.
