The AIIHPC Fellowship and Bursary Awards aim to support AIIHPC Palliative Care Research Network and AIIHPC Early Career Researcher Forum members from AIIHPC member organisations by fostering meaningful research in palliative care across the Island of Ireland to improve the quality of life of people with life-limiting conditions and their families.
AIIHPC is delighted to announce the awardees of the AIIHPC Early Career Researcher Forum (ECRF) Bursary Award 2025 and the AIIHPC International Palliative Care Research Network (PCRN) Fellowships 2025.
The ECRF Bursary Award supports early career researchers from AIIHPC member organisations to engage in opportunities that strengthen research skills, foster knowledge exchange, and support active participation in the palliative care research community. This year, ECRF members Tara Anderson, Aaron Kennedy, Lorna Gurren, Xingge Sun and Zara Fay have been awarded bursaries. These fellows were successful in their applications following an expert panel review of the open call.
The PCRN Fellowships support members of the AIIHPC International Palliative Care Research Network to undertake international academic or clinically aligned visits that enhance research collaboration and contribute to professional development. In 2025, PCRN members Dr Mary Nevin, Dr Jeff Hanna and Dr Suja Somanadhan have been awarded fellowships to support these activities.
We warmly congratulate all awardees and look forward to sharing more about the impact of the bursaries and fellowships on their research outputs through the ECRF and PCRN networks in the near future.
