The Psychological, Social and Spiritual Care Research Special Interest Group held its first meeting online on the 15 February 2024. We were delighted that so many people from different backgrounds and places came together to focus on this theme. There was particularly strong representation from Voices4Care members, and the discussion highlighted the applied health research expertise amongst the group members. Potential research ideas, resources and relevant events were shared with the group emphasising approaches which were inclusive, and which supported integration of spiritual, psychological and social domains into clinical care.
The group will hold meetings of the wider membership every 6 weeks, with a smaller steering group meeting more frequently to advance the wider group’s objectives. Dates for these meetings will be publicised in AIIHPC newsletters, as well as being notified to group members.
